There are many reasons why you need Sensory Owl's weighted cotton lap pillow.
Weighted therapy is mostly popular from weighted blankets but there are many other products used for relaxation and easing joint pain. Are you suffering from restless leg syndrome? Try the weighted lap pillow! They are also great in Sensory Integration Therapy or OT therapy room. The weighted lap pillow is compact and easy to store in the classroom or sensory room. They ease anxiety and help to concentrate on the task.
Here are some highlights of cotton weighted lap pillow:
- individually made-to-order (yep we are making them, especially for you!)
- made from 100% cotton and weighted with glass granules
- size: 30x40cm
- the pillow allows the application of pressure to the chosen part of the body
- ideal for use during therapy, in the classroom, and during ‘table’, exercises when concentration is required
- we use fabric pieces left from other projects for a more sustainable approach as we care about the environment as much as you do!

WHAT WEIGHT SHOULD I PICK FOR MY WEIGHTED LAP PILLOW?
There is no research on what weight would be most suitable. We recommend a weight up to 10% of the body weight same as the weighted blanket. Weighted lap pillow is used for a shorter period of time and often in situations requiring faster effect. They are easy to put on and off and the user can express how long lap pillow should be used.
If you plan to purchase more than one pillow and you use it for larger group of users then it is good idea to take a few different weights.
FABRIC TYPE SPEC
This specific cotton has a high count of 270-280gsm. It is sturdy but gets very soft when in use. It is durable and it is Oeko-Tex certified.
Cotton is breathable so it regulates the body temperature better. It is recommended for warmer seasons and for people who do not like getting hot.
